The UKE at a glance

The Kore University of Enna (or UKE) is one of the largest and most articulated among the over 20 free universities operating in Italy. It is the only private university in Sicily.

The official acronym is UKE. The full name is Free University of Enna “Kore”.

The UKE was established in 2005 by the Minister of University and Research with decree no. 116 of 5 May 2005, published in the Official Journal of the Italian Republic n. 110 of 13 May 2005.

The Kore University of Enna does not depend on any public body, its property is entirely private and placed under the control of the Fondazione per la Libera Università Kore di Enna, a non-profit entity.

The UKE issues, with legal value, all types of academic qualifications required by the three highest ISCED (International Standard Classification of Education) levels: 6, 7 and 8:
